Being Shy

At school, I didn’t usually raise my hand even if I knew or wanted to answer; I waited for the teacher to call me.

With friends and family, I don’t ask for favors even when I need help; I wait for someone to notice.

When I was a kid, I was not encouraged to look for things not on the table; I was trained to understand that if it wasn’t there, that meant we couldn’t afford it.
