Five Fun Kid Activities in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria, Spain, offers up a delightful assortment of activities to those there for a short visit or an extended holiday. Those traveling with children need not worry about entertaining them as Gran Canaria is a great family holiday destination and there are many things to do that both you and your child will enjoy. Read further for just a few ideas.


Holiday World

This is an amusement park that offers all sorts of fun for all ages. Rides and attractions include a roller coaster, ferris wheel, bumper cars and bumper boats, several children's rides and activities, a playground, several thrill rides, a pirate ship, parrot show, 4D Cinema, arts and crafts, indoor bowling and so much more. Food is available throughout the park. When night falls, put the kids to bed and enjoy some dancing, live music, night clubs and pubs.


Cocodrilo Park

Come see the huge crocodiles. Shows are held each day where you will see them being fed and their handlers perform some amazing feats with these interesting creatures. Other animals you will see include deer, llamas, ducks, monkeys, zebras, tropical fish, birds and many more. There is also a beer tent, cafe, cactus garden and souvenir shop on-site.


Camel Safari

You will find several places that offer camel rides. You will be outfitted properly and taken on a tour of the sand dunes on the back of a camel. Lunch will be provided and you can expect to see all sorts of creatures that make their home in the area.


Sioux City

Take a trip back in time to the period of the wild West. Western shows will be performed where you will see shoot-outs, bank robberies, cowboys and Indians and more. Many of these shows are interactive so don't be surprised if you are pulled out of the audience to join in. There is also a zoo area where you will see prairie dogs, raccoons, meercats, albino wallabies, American bison, Aruba rattlesnake, American rattlesnake and a rare white alligator. Various demonstrations are held throughout the day and you are welcome to visit the saloon for an old-fashioned sarsaparilla which is basically cowboy soda pop. Food is available on-site.


Maspalomas Beach

This is a great family-friendly beach where you can all relax and enjoy the beautiful water and sunshine. This beach boasts a large amount of sand dunes and a very old lighthouse. Take a dip in the sea, build a sand castle, play in the sand dunes and enjoy a picnic or visit one of the nearby restaurants.

Any of these activities are sure to make your child happy and excited. This is likely to be the holiday they will be telling their friends and extended family about for a long time to come.
